Course Description

Outline: Introducing the horoscope wheel; data; learning the glyphs; sign divisions (elements and modes); introducing the Big Three (Sun, Moon, ASC); exploring the zodiac signs; the luminaries (Sun and Moon) and the lunation cycle; introducing Mercury to Pluto. Plus over a dozen articles.

This course is available to view online immediately. You'll also be given access to various articles/handouts (which can be downloaded) and an Extras folder with past Q&As along with videos about exams, assignments and software.

Ideal if you are: a beginner; wanting to revise the basics or fill in the gaps; self-taught or have been reading about astrology for years but want to broaden/ground your knowledge and receive help filling in the gaps.

What’s included: Approximately 22 hours of pre-recorded videos (with tutor and presentation) and six 2-hour live weeknight classes (or another option of three Saturday seminars live in London) each term. You’ll receive articles to read (and a recommended reading list) and optional homework (allow a couple of hours for reading each week and a couple of hours to do the assignments). Access for 18 months (email us if you want to extend this).

  • 2 Nov: Working with your Elements and Modes (imbalances, lacks and preponderances)

  • 9 Nov: Exploring the zodiac signs

  • 16 Nov: Getting a grip on the meanings of the inner planets (Sun to Mars)

  • 23 Nov: Working with the social planets (Jupiter and Saturn)

  • 30 Nov: Exploring the outer planets (Uranus to Pluto)

2023 London Live Tutorial Dates for 101 (3 Saturdays, 11am–4.30pm UK time)

Aside from watching the pre-recorded classes and weeknight classes live (and recorded) on Zoom, there is a third option of attending the classes on Saturdays live in London (Steiner House, 35 Park Road, London NW1 6XT). These repeat the weeknight tutorial topics – two weeknight classes are repeated on one Saturday.

Richard Swatton is a highly experienced astrologer and psychotherapist based in Bristol, UK, who began studying traditional, horary and occult approaches to astrology in 1976. His book, 'The Horary Process', is due to be published in 2024.
